Let There Be Light

TMC is brimming with life. At various times during October, all our children had the opportunity to carve pumpkins. They did the carving, and they made quite a mess. BUT, in pumpkin-carving and in life, much can be learned from the process. And the outcomes are so worth it.

The experience was a beautiful illustration of all that God has done for us. He lovingly takes out our “junk,” cleaning us up from the inside out. He makes us into the masterpiece He always intended us to be, giving us eyes to see and smiles of joy. Then He puts His light in us, so that we can shine like lights in a dark world. What a gift, His light! It is for all people, everywhere.

So we recently started a new adult Bible study, men and women meeting at different times to share light and life. As we gather, we are experiencing much-needed strength in fellowship, encouragement, wisdom, and discernment for the spiritual battles we are fighting. We face an enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but together we take up the weapons of our warfare. God has created our “together” as only He can, a beautiful tapestry of diverse ages, races, and backgrounds. We need each other.

We are all created with hungry hearts. Do you see the battle raging? Have you plugged in to your “together?” Thanks be to God, who satisfies the hungry heart! There is victory in Jesus. Light and life to all He brings. If you have it, share it! If you are battling alone in the dark, reach out. You are so loved.

“In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overpower it.”  John 1:4-5
