I just came home from a Sunday afternoon walk to the playground at the park. The fiery colors marking the change in season are glorious! Over and over, the palette captures my attention and points me to the Lord of creation and the Lord of the harvest. So as I am walking from our RV to the park with ten young, enthusiastic companions, we begin to share things we are thankful for. We take turns, and our list goes on and on and on and on…. And inside my chest, my heart swells with gratitude for this indescribable gift of harvest. The harvest I am talking about is lives: redeemed, restored, reclaimed, renewed. The fruit of this harvest is eternal! It is beautiful and plentiful. We are continually declaring our gratitude to the Lord.
In everything give thanks. THANKSGIVING JOY, dear friends!
“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before him with joyful singing…. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name! For the Lord is good; his loving kindness is everlasting and his faithfulness to all generations. ” Psalm 100:1-2,4-5
