Captivated

Blessings to you in this new year, 2024. I am so thankful we are here. The snow is a stunning reminder of God’s promises and His relentless commitment to His people, wayward as we can be! I confess I have wrestled with the load I’ve carried over the past months. But oh, the sweetness of the Spirit’s conviction and counsel! What release I have experienced in responding to the Lord’s hand of correction.

Today in Mississippi: a “winter storm.”

Snow, falling in pure white-soft silence. The winter wind brings a restless chill, but all creation echoes the Spirit’s insistent call.

“Be still.”

Such a tender call of correction.

Such a tender call to trust.

Such a tender call to embrace His love by releasing control.

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth, and making it bear and sprout, furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

so will My word be, which goes forth from My mouth. It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

Isaiah 55:10-11

Why does God make such an amazing promise? Love. Pure, unfailing love.

Who can fathom a love so captivating as His? He awaits my “yes” to His call of love. Find rest in Me alone.

Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. Sit here awhile. Let His love quietly captivate you. He is more than enough, so much more. Answer His call.

Be still and know that I am God.

Yes. ♥️
