PUMPKIN PARABLE COMES TO LIFE

Pumpkin1-400 ThPumpkin1-400we Pumpkin Patch Parable (Liz Curtis Higgs) is a beautiful children’s story that chronicles a pumpkin’s journey: seed to green plant, then harvest-ready pumpkin to light-bearing beacon.  On a damp, drizzly October 31st in Olive Branch, that parable was read over and over again to eager children who thought it an adventure to come to our travel trailer to hear a story.

Friends from Getwell Road gave away copies of The Pumpkin Patch Parable to the children and also prepared goodie bags and containers of dry soup mix to share with neighborhood residents. In spite of the dreary day, the light of Christ was shining. The pumpkin parable was brought to life by adult and children volunteers who served from the heart, bold in love. Shine, Jesus, shine!

2 Cor. 4:6, “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made His light shine in our hearts…”
Matt. 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see the good you do and glorify your Father in heaven.”
